The wolverine. When we hear this name we thing of the super hero that is in the band the X-Men, but it si in fact a real live creature on the planet. It weighs 30-50 pounds, has a body length of about 3 feet and a tail length of 7-8 inches. The genus name for the wolverine is Gulo, which in Greek means the glutton. The name came about from the speculation of its huge appetite. The wolverine in found in North America and in northern and eastern Europe. HUMMINGBIRD: This is just one of the hundreds to thousands of types of birds in the world. These birds are found basically in tropical regions in the world. Most of them are 3-4 inches long, but some range from 2 inches to 8 inches. The bill of a hummingbird is long and thin, which contains a protrusible tubular tongue. This is used specifically for sucking the nectar from flowers. The humming noise that the bird makes come from the rapidly beating wings which beat 60-75 times per second.
